Are holidays abroad going to become a thing for the wealthy and privileged once again? Now that fuel prices are rising and credit is crunching in the UK I think that the good old UK holiday is going to be rediscovered.
I know that I for one am not planning an abroad trip this year and have already taken two UK based breaks and will probably take another (though I did sneak in a France Ski trip too). It goes without saying that the travel companies will have to increase charges to cover fuel and associated price rises, and some have done so already.
I have to say, that while we are looking at a recession (there, I said it) that UK’ers, holidaying in the UK can only be a good thing. It’s time to rediscover England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland! And hopefully it’s a good time to own a web site that lists accommodation in those places! Dust off those tents.

One of my favourite places that I have holidayed in was Lleyn Peninsula in North Wales. The beaches were unlike any I have visited in the UK before and reminded more of Greece than Wales. Of course you are close to Snowdonia National Park too which again, is some of the most amazing scenery that you could hope to see anywhere in the world. The only thing that it does not have is guaranteed sunshine, but hey, I spent a week in Greece in the rain!
