Dumfries and Galloway, which is actually just one county in south westerly Scotland - it's county town is Dumfries; and the following areas are all part of Dumfries & Galloway plus a few others: Annandale, Nithdale, Stewartry (or some use the term Kirkcudbrightshire), Wigtownshire. There are various hotels such as the Knockinaam Lodge, which is a five star lodge. Many people like to stay at this lodge as it is beautifully decorated, the meals that are served are prepared to order, and there is great attention to every detail. Although it is a five star lodge, it should also be noted that is not child friendly.

There is the Best Western that is located in the area, and is heavily relied upon for the accommodation of those families that have children as well as pets. Many families do not like to travel without their pets, and the Best Western makes sure that the family friend can come along too.
