Description of Balbeg Country Holidays: Balbeg Country Holidays are situated in dramatic scenery in the Southern Uplands of South West Scotland, some 50 miles south of Glasgow and 16 miles from the county town of Ayr.

The quality self catering holiday accommodation forms part of Balbeg Estate, a 300 acre estate which lies on the slopes of the valley of the Water of Girvan about 2 miles south of the delightful conservation village of Straiton. Balbeg Estate extends from the riverbank and valley floor to the hilltops. The lodge and cottages occupy a slightly elevated position overlooking the river. There is also a section of salmon fishing on the Water of Girvan and a small lake with nature hide.

For families Balbeg offers two outdoor play parks, a large nature lake with hide and acres of woodland walks.

Balbeg Self Catering Holiday properties are situated in the beautiful countryside near Straiton, South Ayrshire on the edge of The Galloway Forest Park.

With Balbeg Estate covering 300 acres, visitors can use the space and privacy to relax and unwind or use our properties as their central location to explore many of Scotland's most popular visitor attractions.
