Anne and Paul welcome you to their family accommodation in the attractive village of Sleights which is just 3 miles from Whitby on the East Yorkshire Coast. We offer comfortable non-smoking rooms with complimentary hostess tray and colour TV. Breakfast includes fruit juice, various cereals, full English breakfast using local products, plentiful tea or coffee and toast with a choice of preserves.All guests arriving at Beechlands are assured of a warm welcome and a very pleasant stay.
We are on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Miles of purple heather, sea cliffs, beaches and grassy dales give it a unique character.

Beechlands is a good base to visit some of the most outstanding countryside. Days can be spent visiting coastal towns and villages: Whitby, Scarborough, Sandsend, Runswick Bay, Staithes and Robin Hoods Bay. There are wonderful Cleveland Way cliff top walks with stunning scenery.
Inland there are the North Yorkshire Moors to explore and many picturesque villages to discover. A few minutes drive from Beechlands is the Heartbeat village of Goathland, where you can sometimes watch them filming Heartbeat. There are many walks in the surrounding area, with a waterfall near the Mallyan Hotel and many streams with pretty wooden bridges to cross. Other traditional villages to visit nearby are Thornton le Dale, Lockton, Levisham and Grosmont, Rosedale, Farndale and Hutton-le-Hole
For steam train enthusiasts there are trains travelling through Sleights village where we have a small station, and the trains can be seen from the house.
Near Malton there is Flamingo Land theme park and zoo, and Eden Camp to visit. The city of York is only an hour’s drive, and is certainly worth a visit.

In the village there are 2 pubs, a café, Butcher, Baker, General Store, Post Office, Fish & Chip Restaurant, and a small garden centre with a riverside café. There is a bus stop and train station 5 minutes walk from the house, where there are regular services to Whitby, York and Middlesbrough
