Originally built in the early 1900’s and formerly known as the Railway Hotel, we are very pleased to re-open the doors of The Balmoral guesthouse in Gillingham. The Balmoral underwent extensive refurbishment in 2008 and, now under new ownership, offers you quality 3 star accommodation with modern conveniences at affordable prices.
Ideally located in the heart of Gillingham, The Balmoral is central and convenient for all transport links to the Medway and Kent areas. You will find us directly across the road from the train station and only 50 yards from the High Street. Accessing all areas is simple.

Local Attractions close to The Balmoral:
We are across the street from the Gillingham Train Station which gives you local access to the following. The Black Lion Leisure Club is a great place to go and enjoy a day at the spa, get some daily exercise at the gym or pool or enjoy a friendly game of badminton or basketball. Feeling famished afterwards you can relax and replenish yourself in the bar on site.
Want to try something a little different, enjoy yourself skating on ice at The Ice Bowl.
How about taking in a game? Gillingham Football Club is just around the corner and holds a great atmosphere of fun and competition. Walk on over and enjoy a game and have a drink at The Blues Rock Café.
Interested in something with a little more culture and history? Try a visit at The Royal Engineers Museum, Chatham Historic Dockyard or Dickens World.

The Balmoral is a newly refurbished Guesthouse with a fresh look. The Balmoral offers you a mix of spacious single, twin, double and family rooms providing great quality at great prices.
All of our rooms have en-suite and kitchenette facilities for your convenience. In addition, all rooms are ’quiet zones’ free from televisions and radios. Of course, in the event that you do wish to use your laptop during your stay, we offer complimentary broadband in each room.
To help make your stay more comfortable we have equipped each room with a kettle, some crockery and cutlery, as well as a fridge.
