Description of The South Wing, Scatwell House: The South Wing is beautiful self-catering accommodation in the Highlands of Scotland. The property is set in the tranquil glen of Strathconon but is still only 22 miles from the Highland capital, Inverness.
The South Wing has a private entrance door that leads through to a large, part-glazed outer hallway. Beyond that is a small vestibule that leads in to the main accommodation. On the ground floor there is a comfortable sitting room with TV (Freeview), DVD, CD player and a small library; a well-equipped, recently installed dining kitchen, a large king bedroom with a dressing area and a large en-suite bathroom with roll-top bath, shower, loo and basin.
A full-size staircase leads to the upper floor on which there is a large king bedroom (double aspect) and a smaller double bedroom. Both of these are en-suite to the same large bathroom, again with roll-top bath, large shower, loo and basin.
Scatwell House itself sits in 20 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens that were formally open to the public once per year as part of the Open Gardens Scheme.
